Tokyo Preview: NANA – Y.S.M PRODUCTS × CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE
Y.S.M PRODUCTS, the lighting brand of Y.S.M Co., Ltd., a company specializing in custom lighting, will present the exhibition “Tokyo Preview: NANA – Y.S.M PRODUCTS x CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE” in autumn 2026.
The exhibition will center on a prototype of NANA, a new work developed in collaboration with Claesson Koivisto Rune, alongside a selection of products previously released by Y.S.M PRODUCTS.
NANA is an ongoing collaborative development project between Claesson Koivisto Rune and Y.S.M. Ahead of its presentation at Milan Design Week 2027, the prototype will be unveiled in Japan for the first time. Its metal form, reminiscent of folded paper, directly expresses the techniques and characteristics of sheet-metal fabrication that Y.S.M has cultivated over the years. The project has evolved through continuous dialogue and prototyping, exploring its form from the perspectives of both design and fabrication.
This process of moving back and forth between design and manufacturing is not unique to NANA, but reflects an approach that Y.S.M has developed through its previous products. Alongside NANA, the exhibition brings together current Y.S.M PRODUCTS pieces created through collaborations with different designers, presenting them within a single space from the perspective of the brand itself.
By placing an ongoing project alongside the body of work developed to date, the exhibition offers an opportunity to reconsider the trajectory of Y.S.M PRODUCTS and to define where the brand stands today as it moves forward.
